Well, we sure don't have a great selection to choose from! Why? Because in todays world it seems to be more important to vote for someone because of their religion, race or gender; and this has been the topic in some of the debates! I will not vote for anyone who is a woman, black, gay or because of their religious back ground if this is their platform! I really haven't heard anything from Mr. Obama, Mrs. Clinton, or Mr. Edwards that convinces me that they will make a great president.

Oprah's (or any celebrity's) endorsement will not influence my vote. I do know that she is very influential, and a lot of women look up to her--and I do admire her myself--but my vote will be based on the candidate's ability and character, not on his/her circle of friends.

dawn, i don't think obama's platform is based on being black, or hilary's is based on being a woman. of course, that will come up because for one, we've never had a black or female president before. it's obviously going to come up .

but regarding this poll, i don't think oprah will influence the votes of those who prefer to think for themselves. it's very different when you're talking about a book, a hand lotion, or a piece of clothing that she's promoting on her show. and if someone does say she has influenced their vote, i think it's really because they have already made up their minds about voting for obama.
